Ah, so I looked a little more closely at the core function and then
tried putting:
'escape' => false
in my $options array in the method, and that worked. So I guess it's a
documentation issue?

Hey all,
I've never submitted a bug before, so I wasn't entirely sure of the
proper channels, and I'm hoping someone on here can either send me the

You can try narrowing it down by lopping off sections of your app one
a time. Start with broad strokes, rename your database.php file to
something else taking away the database connection all together. Your
app will fail but it might give you a place to start if you don't run
into the out of memory error. From there dig into the dbo_mysql.php

Yeah, but beside that, does CakePHP use some of the features that come
with InnoDB (like foreign keys using the database engine instead of
implementing it in PHP)? Basically I'm curios is if there is some
gain, beside transactions and row locking instead of table locking,

Ok but im at my buddy house and I want to login in and I don’t have my email
account set up at his house? Or im at work and want to check out something
when the boss is not looking sure the email is sent to my email account but
I don’t want to set up an email account on every computer I use. Much easier

Thanks for replay.
Is this the line to comment in core.php
("Configure::write('Session.ch eckAgent', true);") ?. Also Firefox3 and ie8
have the same issues.

I had exactly the same issue, i kept on loosing the session (which was
causing the logout) every few minutes... i found that this was only
happening in Internet Explorer though and not when using Firefox. Is

complained in the past about needing a password to login? I've
developed a lot of websites and haven't had one user complain about
needing to enter a password, but who knows.

Please apply the solution you already know about, enable the short
tags in the php.ini file!
There is as far as I know, no other solution ... except for you to go
through all your source code and change from the short tag to the <?
php tag :)

Un expected Logout in cakephp session

I have used cakephp Auth for Login purpose. But the user is logout
every 2 minutes. I have set the security level low in config/
core.php(ie Configure::write('Security.lev el', 'low'). But the user is

Today i am upgrading my server to PHP 5.3 and see something trouble.
My cakePHP get ugly and i see that open short tags doesn't work.
like <?=$post['Post']['title']?>
I have many open short tags on everywhere.
I know solution is to enable open , short tags on php.ini
My question can it solved without short tags on php.ini ?

Uploaded the site after I was certain I have correctly updated the
httpd.conf on the remote server. I got that part right.
Completely forgot that I had FileZilla set to filter out ALL . (dot)
files, so the .htaccess files that CakePHP depends on didn't get
uploaded. Modified the FileZilla file filters to only exclude

I uploaded a website (all static pages and routes at the moment) to my
Hosts Web Server. All the pages and custom routes for the static
pages work on my laptop running Apache, PHP and MySQL.
I fixed the DB and tmp folder errors. The homepage displays fine, so
my menu helper and layouts are working. Using one of the menu links
